5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 9
The deadline to register to vote for the town election, and the primary election for U.S. Senate, is Wednesday.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. The deadline to register to vote for the combined town election and state primary election is Wednesday. It is also the deadline to change your party affiliation. The Milford Town Clerk's office will remain open until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Milford agreed to push back the town election to combine it with the state primary. The April 30 elections will have separate ballots.
2. The Milford Highway Department is flushing water lines in Milford for the next several weeks. Eight streets, or sections of streets, were completed Sunday night. The streets that remain this week include Birch Street, Medway Road and Jencks Road.

3. The opening day parade for Milford Youth Baseball is set for April 28. The parade will begin on East Main Street, near the Stop & Shop Supermarket, before proceeding to Rosenfeld Park. The parade begins at 11:30 a.m.
4. If you are planning to travel out of Boston's Logan Airport for spring vacation, be aware that the parking lot is expected to reach its capacity. Airport officials released a media advisory Tuesday, urging travelers to use public transportation to get to the airport or the Logan Express bus. "Massport is offering a special Logan Express discount that could add up to more than $140 in savings by not parking at the airport. New this year, children 17 and under now ride free, when accompanied by an adult on Logan Express, and adult passengers will pay half off their round-trip bus fare."

5. Charles Skaff, the longtime supervior of the maintenance department for Milford town offices, has announced he will retire on Sept. 3. He has been employed by Milford for more than 40 years.
