5 Things You Need to Know Today: March 15

Milford High School will be the scene of security training and will feature enactment of an intruder entering the building. No students are involved. Don't panic if you see police en masse.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. which will include police and first responders. Do not mistake the police presence outside the building for a real incident. The training will take place from noon to 4 p.m. and will involve about 450 school employees. Milford Police ask the public to not enter the training area.

4. Tickets are still available for the Milford Youth Center's St. Patrick's Day dinner and comedy show on Saturday. The tickets will be available at the door, as well. This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the youth center, which provides supervised activities for teens and pre-teens.

5. The Milford Performing Arts Center announces its April vacation workshops for children. The Workshops will run Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19. Full and half-day programs are available. See the announcement for more information and pricing.
