5 Things You Need to Know Today: March 29

A reception for the new Town Administrator, Richard Villani, will be at Town Hall this morning. The public is invited.

1. A public reception for the incoming Town Administrator, Richard Villani, will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Milford Town Hall. Appointed last month, Villani, an attorney, will step into his new role on Monday. Retiring administrator Louis Celozzi also will attend the reception.

2. A fire fund has been established for the first of two families displaced by the devastating fire on Water Street this week. The family of the woman who lost her second floor apartment and belongings has set up an account for her at Milford Federal Savings & Loan. 3. The Milford Youth Center will be open Friday after-school, from noon to 3 p.m.

4. The Easter Egg Hunt postponed last weekend due to snow on the ground has been rescheduled to Saturday. The event at Milford Town Park is open to children up to age 12 and starts at 10 a.m.

5. A reminder that Milford Police and Fire officials encourage residents to sign up in the event they have to call 911. The information will appear on the emergency dispatch screen when the activated phone calls 911 in Milford.
