Community Reading Day

Memorial Elementary School invited school and community leaders into the classrooms to read to children.

Memorial Elementary School celebrated the end of an 8-week read-a-thon Friday with Community Reading Day.

The students had just completed the Books and Beyond recreational reading program, which is an annual 8 week program is to encourage and nurture reading outside the classroom.

Community leaders, including state Rep. John Fernandes (D-Milford), Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin, Superintendent Robert Tremblay and Target Store Leader Tom Rock, were invited in to share a story and help inspire students.
