CVS/Pharmacy this week donated a new medication disposal unit to the Milford Police Department a part of a partnership with Drugfree.org.

The CVS/Pharmacy Medication Disposal for Safer Communities Program is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to combat abuse. Each year in the United States, more than 71,000 children aged 18 and younger are seen in emergency rooms for unintentional overdoses of prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
“The Milford Police Department is committed in its attempt to reduce prescription drug abuse with this program along with our bi-annual participation with the DEA’s National Take Back Prescription Day, where we collect unwanted medications.”
Milford’s next collection is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Milford Senior Center, 60 North Bow St. in Milford.
