Massive Fire At Turtle Tavern In Milford: Reports
Main Street in downtown Milford was shut down due to the fire, according to the police department.

MILFORD, MA — Fire crews were battling a massive blaze at a downtown Milford tavern Monday evening, according to reports from media outlets.
Several blocks of downtown Milford were shut down due to the fire, the police department said in a Facebook post.

"Main Street from Jefferson Street to Pearl Street is currently closed while Firefighters battle a working fire," the post said. "Please avoid the area."

The Turtle Tavern is right in the middle of the stretch of closed off streets and that is where the fire broke out, 7 News Boston reported.

"Sky 7 HD flew over the multi-floor building which includes the Turtle Tavern on Main Street, showing flames shooting out of the roof and smoke pouring out onto the street," according to the 7 News Boston account.
The three-story building also houses residential space, a WCVB 5 story said.

"From Sky5, heavy flames and dense smoke could be seen coming from the building's roof, and Main Street was blocked to traffic by emergency vehicles," WCVB 5 reported.
