Grand Opening Planned For Milford Louisa Lake Disc Golf Course
An effort to build the nine-hole course in Milford got underway about two years ago.
MILFORD, MA — A disc golf course in Milford in the works for years will officially open this month.
A celebration is planned next week for the new nine-hole course at Louisa Lake along Dilla Street. The course was built amid a 12-acre forested parcel on the east side of the lake along the Upper Charles trail.
Parks and Recreation Administrator Jim Asam said the idea was first raised in 2016, but work on plans for the course didn't get into gear until 2020.

Disc golf courses are relatively rare in the area. The closest course to Milford is in Franklin at Dacey Fields, and there are courses farther away at the Buffumville Dam in Oxford, and at Newton Hill in Worcester.
The grand opening will be held April 15 from noon to 3 p.m. The event will feature a special guest, a contest and giveaways, according to the parks department.
