Milford Jersey Mike's Sets Opening Date, Offers Free Subs
The new Milford Jersey Mike's will give away free subs in its first week to support Milford High School.

MILFORD, MA — A new Jersey Mike's sub shop in Milford will open in April following a key approval from the Select Board on Monday.
Brian O'Loughlin, who owns four other Jersey Mike's in Franklin, Dedham, Walpole and Norfolk, will operate the new Milford location in the Stop & Shop plaza along Route 109 (Medway Road). The shop will open on April 6, O'Loughlin told the Select Board before they approved the restaurant's common victualler license.
During the Jersey Mike's first five days in business, the shop will give away 75 free subs. Customers who get a free sub will be asked to donate at least $3, which O'Loughlin will then give to the Milford High School athletics department, he told the Select Board.

The plan for a Milford Jersey Mike's dates to September, when O'Loughlin went before the Planning Board for permission to remodel the former Hair Cuttery salon at the Milford Crossing shopping plaza into an eatery.
Jersey Mike's has about eight sub shops in eastern Massachusetts, including nearby locations in Marlborough and Shrewsbury. The chain was founded in the 1950s in Point Pleasant, N.J. In 2014, the Jersey Mike's embarked on a nationwide expansion, aiming to grow to 5,000 locations.
