Milford Man Finishes 2nd in Timlin 5K

For the ninth year in a row, racers from across the state gathered in Hopkinton Sunday to support ALS Research.

More than 1,700 runners descended on Hopkinton Sunday for a race that has come to be more about the community and support than a day about running.

The Sharon Timlin Memorial 5K, named in honor of former Red Sox relief pitcher Mike Timlin's mother, raises money for ALS.

Sixty-one Milford runners finished the race — ages 11 to 72 — with 18-year-old Christopher Kivior, of Milford, coming in second with a 17:07 time.
