Milford Police Respond to Boston
Several officers and department leaders traveled to Boston Monday night and will assist law enforcement following the Boston Marathon bombing.

Milford Police are assisting law enforcement in Boston in the immediate aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing.
The department was in contact with Boston agencies throughout the day Monday, said Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin, in an email.
Sent to Boston to help were the following employees: officer Scott Nelson, a member of the Metro SWAT team, who was activated immediately; Deputy Police Chief James Heron;Â Detective Mike Mastrioanni; and officers Bob Pavia and Nathan Hathaway.

The officers have been assigned to the city of Boston, which has requested assistance.
