Milford Store Sells $2 Million Winning Lottery Ticket

The winner claimed the prize recently through a trust, according to lottery officials.

MILFORD, MA — A lucky local has claimed a $2 million prize won on a scratch ticket sold in Milford, according to lottery officials.

The RCW Trust, based in Clinton, won the prize on a "$2,000,000 50X Cashword" scratch game. The trust took the winnings in a one-time, pre-tax payout of $1.3 million. Clinton attorney Daniel Notaro accepted the prize on behalf of the trust.

The winning scratcher was sold by the Nouria location at 139 Medway Road. The store will get a $20,000 bonus for selling the ticket. The tickets sell for $10 each.

The $2 million win is the largest in Milford in at least 20 years, according to state lottery records. The nearest winner to this month's prize came in October 2011 when a Powerball player won $200,000 on a ticket purchased at the former Tedeschi store.
