Oktoberfest In Milford: CraftRoots Brewing Celebration This Weekend
Head to the Industrial Road brewery Saturday for food, games and a new beer based on the traditional German fest bier style.
MILFORD —Milford's CraftRoots Brewing on Saturday will host its own take on the traditional German Oktoberfest.
Starting at 1 p.m., the Industrial Road brewery will feature games like stein-holding contest, food from the food truck Sauced and Tossed and music by The Dane Street Project. Attendees are encouraged to dress in traditional German garb, with prizes for the best dressers.
Most importantly, the brewery will begin serving its own fest bier — a traditional German brew with Bohemian pilsner malts and Hallertau Mittelfrue hops.

CraftRoots will also use the Oktoberfest event to kick off a new stein club, where beer drinkers can buy a $15 stein that stays at the brewery, and entitles the owner to larger beer pours at a reduced price. The brewery will only offer 50 steins for sale.
Maureen and Robin Fabry cofounded CraftRoots in 2014 in Milford, and it was the first woman-owned brick-and-mortar brewery in Massachusetts. They recently sold the brewery to new owners from the area.
