New Pool At Fino Field Moves Ahead In Planning Process
Plans for a new Fino Field poll were recently in front of the Milford Planning Board, with the town hoping to break ground in fall.

MILFORD, MA — A town plan to renovate the closed Fino Field pool will continue through the local approval process into August following an initial hearing last week.
The town's plan for a new pool was up for a site plan review last week in front of the Planning Board. Apart from technical details requested by various town departments, the board asked the project architect to visit the Board of Sewer Commissioners to get approval to connect to the town sewer system.
The Fino Field pool will go back to the planning board in August for possible approval. The town may begin work on the project as soon as this fall.

The new Fino Field pool will feature a ground-level entry point that's handicap accessible, plus a new spray deck and playground, according to plans for the project. The new pool will use a portion of the old pool to save time and money on construction.
The pool has not been open since the 2019 swimming season, in partly due to the pandemic. Town Meeting in October 2021 approved spending $4.6 million on the Fino Field pool upgrade.

For Milford swimmers, the only public pool open this summer is the Sen. P. Eugene Casey Memorial Swimming Pool operated by the state Department of Conservation and Recreation. That facility has been crowded this summer with limited swimming areas open near Milford.
