Police Log: Agitated Lacrosse Parents, Kids Playing in the Park After-Hours

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, April 12

1:59 p.m.: After receiving a report that a woman had fled Kohl's, police were seeking a summons to charge Kayleigh C. Kaltsos, 26, of 31 Oliver St., Apt. 4, Milford, with shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

3:20 p.m.: Police received a call from the U.S. Capitol Police, who asked police to notifiy a woman in Milford  about "letters and produce being sent to the Capitol police." The woman was not at home.

6:47 p.m.: A grandmother told police her grandson had sent her a text threatening to harm himself. Police responded to the grandson's home and spoke to him.

7:15 p.m.: Police responded to for a report of an unruly patient coming into the emergency room.

7:54 p.m.: Police responded to Milford High School, where a caller said parents in the stands were staring to argue about the lacrosse game. No one was fighting, but school authorities requested a police presence.

10:03 p.m.: A distrubance was reported at Milford Regional Medical Center, where a patient was attempting to leave the emergency room before a mental health evaluation.

Saturday, April 13

2:37 a.m.: A 7-Eleven employee asked police to respond to the store, for a customer causing a disturbance.

7:39 a.m.: A caller reported a crash on Purchase Street, with no injury.

8:30 a.m.: A two-car crash with injury was reported on Highland Street. At least one person was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center. Following an investigation police are seeking a summons to charge Miguel Tejeda, 40, of 15 Colonial Rd., Apt. 12, Milford, with speeding and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Both vehicles were towed. The Milford Highway Department was contacted about debris in the road.

11:17 a.m.: A caller reported her ex was in a store on East Main Street, screaming and yelling at her. Several officers responded.

2:25 p.m.: A caller reported his sister-in-law had lost her wallet on the Milford Upper Charles Trail. The wallet was later returned to her after a Good Samaritan found it.

3:27 p.m.: A caller on Paula Road reported his house was egged overnight.

4:11 p.m.: A stove fire was reported on Pine Island Road. The fire was extinguished before firefighters arrived. They checked to see it hadn't spread.

5:31 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street, police were seeking a summons to charge Maura A. Perreira, 31, of 11 S. Main St., Milford, with operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

9:12 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street, police arrested Manuel Jesus Caguana-Pinguil, 19, of 13 Genoa Ave., Apt. 2, Milford, on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

9:30 p.m.: A caller reported youths appeared to be fighting at Milford Town Park. Police determined the youths were playing manhunt. One boy, who did not run, was advised the park is closed.

9:39 p.m.: A caller reported a disturbance on Luby Avenue. Police took a 22-year-old woman into protective custody.

10:35 p.m.: A complaint about loud music came in on Luby Avenue.

Sunday, April 14

12:07 a.m.: A car reportedly hit a pole on Cedar Street, near Mobil Mart. Police requested the Milford Highway Department for a large rock in the roadway.

10:08 a.m.: Vandalism to several buildings was reported at Fino Field.

11:14 a.m.: A caller told police a young boy, about 5 to 7 years old, was operating his bike on Dilla Street and was not attended by a parent. He was in the road and had no control of his bicycle, the caller reported. Police responded and were told the boy was last seen on the bike path.
