Police Log: Carbon Monoxide, Crashes, Harassment of Plow Drivers

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, March 7

3:53 p.m.: Police arrested Michael R. Brown, 36, of 2 Harris Ave., Milford, on charges of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

4:29 p.m.: Milford Regional Medical Center staff asked police to respond to an incident involving theft. Police are seeking a summons to charge Michelle Sciarini, 34, of 38 Harvard Dr., Milford, on a charge of larceny under $250.

4:49 p.m.: Police reported the roads were slippery. The Highway Department was notified.

4:58 p.m.: Police requested an ambulance for a motor vehicle crash near Comfort Inn on Fortune Boulevard. A firefighter noticed a scent of gas in the area. Nstar was contacted. At least one person was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

5:54 p.m.: A single-car crash, involving a car into a telephone pole, was reported on Beaver Street. No one was injured.

11:07 p.m.: A caller reported he had been receiving harassing text messages.

11:25 p.m.: A woman on Main Street told police a car had crashed into her side driveway, and a man had come to the door seeking help. Police reported a woman in the vehicle had a head injury and needed to be extricated from the vehicle. She was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center. Police determined the vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run in Hopedale. Hopedale reported the vehicle would have significant damage, including no rear bumper and possibly two flat tires. 

11:47 p.m.: A caller reported a black SUV had three males inside that were either throwing rocks or shooting BBs at windows on Jefferson Street. Police pulled over a vehicle that matched the description, but it was not the vehicle. Police spoke to the caller, who would not give any information.

Friday, March 8

5:46 a.m.: The Highway Department needed a vehicle removed on Fox Lane at Oak Terrace.

6:02 a.m.: A caller reported profanities were spray-painted on a car facing his house, on Main Street.

7:05 a.m.: A caller reported a sedan had crashed into a building, the on Main Street. About the same time, a man walked in to police headquarters to report his vehicle had struck a building. The property owner was contacted.

7:24 a.m.: A two-car crash was reported on Main at Water streets. Police are seeking a summons to charge Joao Tome Pinto, 55, of 5 Taylor St., Apt. 2, Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

7:51 a.m.: A caller reported a car had spun off Purchase Street and was in someone's front yard. The woman driver hit her head on the windshield. National Grid was notified about a struck pole.

9:21 a.m.: An assistant principal at Milford High School asked to speak to an officer about a past issue.

9:44 a.m.: A caller reported she had not been able to contact her mother at Milford Care and Rehabilitation for two days, and said no one at the facility would put her in touch with her. She asked police to perform a well-being check. An officer spoke to the facility administrator, who said the woman is fine and that he had spoken to the caller on several occasions, and will call her again.

11:57 a.m.: A caller reported a single-car crash on Purchase Street. Police are seeking a summons to charge Reinalto Prudencio, 42, of 16 Prospect Heights, Milford, with allowing improper operation of a motor vehicle. Police are seeking a summons to charge Marcos M. Dossantos, 37, of 16 Prospect Heights, Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

12:17 p.m.: A caller reported an oil truck struck a fire hydrant at Depot Street then took off.

12:41 p.m.: The Milford Fire Department reported a car crash in front of the Birch Street headquarters. The fire hydrant was knocked off the mounting. The Milford Water Company was notified.

1:04 p.m.: The Milford Highway Department asked police to move a car on Forest Street, to plow the road.

2:10 p.m.: A caller reported a man on Main Street was harassing the Highway Department workers and plowing contractors.

2:47 p.m.: The Highway Department reported two people were in the middle of Windsor Road, refusing to let plow trucks by. The people were gone when police arrived.

3:22 p.m.: The Highway Department reported a resident on Emmons Street was yelling and verbally harassing plow drivers.

5:29 p.m.: A caller reported her friend was posting suicidal messages on Facebook. Police performed a well-being check.

6:20 p.m.: Two vehicles were reported to be driving around erratically in the Fino Field parking area. 

6:37 p.m.: A caller reported a vehicle on Main Street was impeding snow removal. The vehicle was parked on the sidewalk.

8:12 p.m.: A caller reported a domestic argument between her daughter and her fiance. No arrest was reported.

10:06 p.m.: A caller reported a car was crossing the marked lanes on East Main Street. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.

Saturday, March 9

1:59 a.m.: Police assisted with the closing of Turtle Tavern.

6:24 a.m.: A caller reported two males at McDonald's on South Main Street were causing a disturbance because the employees would not give them free coffee. The males left the parking lot on foot toward CVS.

1:04 p.m.: A Chevrolet Impala was repossessed on Shadowbrook Lane.

1:14 p.m.: A patient at Milford Regional Medical Center was causing a disturbance. Police reported the patient had been calmed.

5:00 p.m.: A motor vehicle crash, involving a rollover, was reported on Interstate 495 near Exit 18. Bellingham Fire reported no injuries were involved.

6:11 p.m.: A male reported he had parked his car in the Bank of America lot on Prospect Street for about 30 minutes, and when he returned, the window had been smashed in and items were now missing. Police responded and reported back that the male had broken the window of his own vehicle once he realized he had locked his keys in the car. The officer was to speak with the driver's parents, who were on their way. The officer spoke to the parents and the male driver was cleaning up the broken glass.

6:19 p.m.: A woman reported she was having custody issues with her child's father.

6:33 p.m.: Firefighters responded to Water Street, where State Police relayed a call from a woman complaining of abdominal pain. Firefighters reported this was a carbon monoxide related incident, and requested a second ambulance for evaluation of the building occupants. The woman was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

7:15 p.m.: A woman reported she had been bitten by a dog the previous week.

7:48 p.m.: A crash was reported on I-495 between exits 18 and 19, possibly involving a rollover into the woods. Police reported no one was in the vehicle, but footprints in the snow were leading into the woods. Police determined the operator's grandparents lived in that area. Police contacted the driver, who said he would return to the crash scene.

10:57 p.m.: A police detective spoke with an intoxicated woman at who was going to drive the vehicle. She switched with a sober man who would drive instead.

11:12 p.m.: A caller on Depot Street said a mother and son were arguing, and the son, who was intoxicated, ran down the street. Police spoke to the mother who said the son had left voluntarily to go see a friend.

11:35 p.m.: A woman reported a disturbance on Claudette Drive. She said her neighbors were fighting, and she could hear women screaming. Police reported that the residents advised they were having a card game and "it got a little loud."
