Police Log: Crying Babies, Man Reports Theft from Bank Account

Monday, March 11

7:15 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported a large amount of money had been taken from his bank account. Police filed a report.

8:16 p.m.: A caller told police he could hear children screaming on Capitol Road. Police checked and found children at the home playing.

8:54 p.m.: A man called and told police his friend was threatening to kill herself and had taken 42 sleeping pills with alcohol. Police checked the home and found no one there. They received a call from the woman, telling them she was in a park. Police checked all Milford parks, but could not locate her. A GPS locator indicated she called from Woonsocket, RI. Woonsocket Police checked parks, and later located her, and she was fine.

Tuesday, March 12

12:34 a.m.: A caller reported three men were in the parking lot of Isabel's, being very loud. Police spoke to them.

2:35 a.m.: A caller told police five to 10 people were in the road outside the Salvation Army, yelling, possibly over a woman. Police arrived but the people were gone.

8:12 a.m.: A caller told police a car was parked on the sidewalk on Westbrook Street. Police issued a ticket.

9:51 a.m.: A woman told police someone may have taken something from her car, on Shadowbrook Lane.

9:53 a.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and reported illegal dumping at the Tempron Products Corp. property, on Maple Street.

12:24 p.m.: Milford and State Police were attempting to serve a warrant to a man who had failed to register as a sex offender. They were not able to serve the warrant. Police have an active arrest warrant for Tyrone Peterson, 61, of 33 Country Club Lane, Apt. C, Milford, on a charge of Level 2 or 3 Sex Offender Failing to Register.

2:07 p.m.: A caller reported a possible domestic on Purchase Street. He said he could hear it through the phone, when he called his friend. Police checked and no arrest was reported.

2:16 p.m.: A man walked in to speak to an officer about a fraudulent ticket he believes was sent to his house.

4:12 p.m.: A caller from Jionzo Road reported a suspicious phone call, telling her she had won a vehicle and a large sum of money from Publisher's Clearing House. Police were to conduct a followup investigation.

5:14 p.m.: A woman asked police to check on the well-being of two crying babies, who were in the apartment above on Walnut Street. She thought they might be home alone.

5:27 p.m.: A manager at Doubletree by Hilton Hotel asked police to assist with an intoxicated man, who was now in the lobby with two employees.
