Police Log: Hip Bag Mistaken for Gun, Holster on Winter Street

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Sunday, Aug. 24

At 8:02 a.m., a caller reported a two-car accident in the area of East Main and Prairie streets. One vehicle was towed from the scene; no injuries were reported.

At 8:05 a.m., an off-duty police officer reported a two-car accident in the area of Medway Road and East Main Street. No injuries were reported.

At 10:56 a.m., a police officer was flagged down by a motorist in the area of Winter and Granite streets who said a man had been walking in the area with what appeared to be a gun in a holster. Officers located the man and determined he had only been wearing a hip bag.

At 11:32 a.m., police received a report of a two-car accident in the parking lot of CVS on Medway Road.

At 12:26 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle that sped through the intersection near Supercuts on Medway Road.

At 5:31 p.m., Hopkinton police reported a dirt biker had taken off on one of their officers and headed toward Milford.

At 9:48 p.m., police received a report from a resident of Hawthorne Path that a strange noise could be heard outside of her home, the source of which may have been an alarm or someone speaking through a megaphone. Officers checked the area but were unable to find anything; the home was secured.
