Police Log: Infants Left in Car Unattended, Arrests

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, March 14

6:32 p.m.: A woman asked police to check on the well-being of two infants, left in a car unattended for at least 10 minutes, in the Shaw's Supermarket parking lot. Police spoke to the people involved.

6:35 p.m.: A caller reported a man carrying a can of beer had just urinated on her car. She confronted him and he started yelling at her. He then started walking toward Bellingham, on Beaver Street. Police arrested Ralph Barreira, 56, of 40419 Otis Allen Road, Zephyrhills, FL, on charges of disturbing the peace, drinking alcoholic beverages on public property and disorderly conduct.

7:47 p.m.: A caller reported a hurt animal in the middle of West Street, near Dairy Queen. Police reported back that it was a raccoon and hurt badly. An officer put the animal down.

8:16 p.m.: A caller reported she had been threatened by a text message about four hours earlier.

10:11 p.m.: A firefighter reported he had witnessed a hit-and-run while across Jefferson Street for a fire alarm call. Police determined the person had hit their own fence with their own car, and no damage was left. The driver had said their vision was impaired by the lights from the fire trucks.

11:00 p.m.: A caller told police a man and a woman were yelling at each other on Lyndon Road, outside, and the woman left. Police determined it was a verbal argument, and the woman had left for the night.

11:54 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report she had been assaulted and was being stalked by an ex-boyfriend. She asked to speak to an officer. A report was filed.

Friday, March 15

12:55 a.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters who had an active warrant. Police arrested Patrick M. Hickey, 24, of 15 Maple St., Bellingham, on a warrant.

6:26 a.m.: Police responded to Fortune Boulevard, near Target, where a motorist said a vehicle had pulled over to the side of the road with two people arguing inside. They then got into a physical altercation outside the car facing Route 16. Police arrived and determined it was a mother and a daughter. They were spoken to.

7:40 a.m.: A caller reported a business next to him on South Main Street was getting a delivery, and the tractor-trailer truck was parked on the sidewalk.

10:29 a.m.: A caller asked to speak to an officer about an incident that happened two weeks before, with her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend.

11:10 a.m.: A caller told police she had lost her wallet.

2:50 p.m.: Police reported they located a teen who had run away from home. The girl was in Marlborough, and was being picked up by her mother.
