Police Log: Man Injured in Industrial Accident

Wednesday, March 6

7:14 p.m.: State Department of Children and Families asked police for assistance with an 8-year-old boy who was refusing to leave Milford Regional Medical Center with them.

9:09 p.m.: A caller asked an officer to help a dog that was locked in a red sedan on Overlea Avenue. Police spoke to the people involved.

Thursday, March 7

1:50 a.m.: A 30-year-old man was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center with a laceration to the top of the head, after a line explosion at Benjamin Moore Paints.

3:30 a.m.: Firefighters responded to Milford Regional Medical Center where an alarm was sounding in a lab. The smoke alarm was coming from a data closet.

7:05 a.m.: Milford Highway employees requested a police officer relating to a parking complaint.

12:12 p.m.: A man found a walled with $17 inside and dropped it off at the police station. The owner was contacted and came in to pick it up.

1:40 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Central Street, police arrested Geraldo Magela Araujo, 45, of 61 Jefferson St., Apt. 6, Milford, on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to yield at an intersection and unsafe operation of a motor vehicle.

3:18 p.m.: A caller asked police to respond to Best Buy for a report of shoplifting.

3:24 p.m.: A man walked in to report a past hit-and-run on Maria Circle.

3:36 p.m.: EMTs responded to Hannaford Supermarket, where an elderly man had fallen, and was bleeding from the head.

3:36 p.m.: A caller reported her medications had been stolen from her.
