Police Log: Man Throwing Items at 7-Eleven, Disturbances

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, April 7

4:46 p.m.: A caller told police that sewer waste was coming out of a man hole cover on East Main Street. An officer determined it was sewerage overflow into a catch basin. The Sewer Department was notified.

4:56 p.m.: Police received multiple calls about a man and a woman fighting in the road on Water Street. The people were gone when police arrived and could not be located.

5:04 p.m.: Police received a report that four teenagers on Alden at Mount Pleasant streets were outside, and one of them appeared to be carrying a shotgun. Police arrived and spoke to the youths. The item was a BB gun and it was being carried by a 22-year-old.

6:28 p.m.: State Police transferred a 911 call involving the calling party's wife. A heavy language barrier interfered. No one answered on call-back. Police responded to Beaver Street and determined the call was a domestic. One person was taken to the hospital.

10:56 p.m.: A caller reported a Nissan Murano swerving all over the road on West Fountain Street, and almost hit several parked cars. Police could not locate the vehicle.

11:18 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Congress at Vine streets, police arrested Lloyd B. Kennedy, 24, of 2 Claudette Dr., Apt. 2, Milford, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Monday, April 8

2:07 a.m.: A disturbance was reported on Jefferson Street. An employee at 7-Eleven said he had had an argument with a man who then proceeded to throw items off the shelf. He took off on foot, heading toward Jefferson Street. The man was described as being about 6 foot tall and in his 20s. Police filed a report.

2:47 a.m.: A 21-year-old woman having a seizure was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center from the Comfort Inn.

6:56 a.m.: A car struck a tree on Medway Road, following a collision with another vehicle. No injury was reported.

7:13 a.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report her daughter's father had choked the child when she was visiting him on Thursday. Police filed a report.

10:50 a.m.: A police sergeant was out on the investigating a report of a camping site. He contacted the Milford Highway Department and the Parks Department to remove items.

12:30 p.m.: A caller on Eben Street asked police for extra patrols on weekends. He said the street has no sidewalks and children are out riding bikes and chasing balls, while cars are speeding. An officer spoke to him.

4:06 p.m.: A transformer blew near Prospect Heights, near the memorial monument. Power was knocked out. No one reported any fire, but a firefighter found the top of the transformer had been blown off, and oil was leaking everywhere. National Grid responded.

4:13 p.m.: A caller on Central Street said people on a four-wheeler and a dirt bike were driving up and down the street, and not wearing helmets. The riders were gone when police arrived.
