Police Log: Tractor-Trailer Strikes Guard Rail

Tuesday, April 9
4:21 p.m.: Police and EMTs responded to Lowe's, where a 70-year-old man had fallen in the parking lot. He refused an ambulance and made arrangements with his daughter to pick him up.
5:11 p.m.: A caller on West Street asked to speak to police about a metal pole sticking out of the ground on the corner of his West Street property.

6:45 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Exchange at Main streets. A silver VW Passat was seen fleeing the area. The vehicle struck a Nissan XTerra.
6:48 p.m.: A caller on Water Street reported she had a 10-year-old girl who had not been picked up by her mother, and she couldn't reach her for the past 30 minutes. Police contacted the mother, who said she had fallen asleep and would come for the child.

8:28 p.m.: A caller told police she was inside the Milford Town Library, and when she came outside, her vehicle had been struck. The driver front side was damaged. Police arrived but determined the other party was there, and this was not a hit-and-run.
9:46 p.m.: A caller reported loud music on Green Street. An officer determined it was people who live in the building who were grilling, and had a car radio on. They were advised to turn it off.
11:46 p.m.: A caller reported the father of her child took the child without permission. Police filed a report.
Wednesday, April 10
4:12 a.m.: A tractor-trailer struck a guard rail on Cedar at Dilla streets. The driver told police he hit the guard rail hard and was stuck. His knee was injured. Arts Towing was contacted.
7:59 a.m.: A motorist reported that the left side entrance of the Ninety-Nine Restaurant had some kind of substance on the road that caused him to slide down the driveway and on to Route 16. Miford Highway Department responded to that area, and to Prairie Street, which also had a report of a slick road. The town put down sand.
2:19 p.m.: A caller told police a man was at a home on Luby Avenue, who was heavily intoxicated and yelling and angry. Police arrested Damon W. Jolie, 34, of 51 Exchange St., Apt. 14, Milford, on a charge of assault and battery.
5:57 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters to report harassment from her ex-boyfriend, who was showing up at her workplace.
