Special Milford Town Meeting Set For October
A new traffic surveillance system, new skateboard park, a leaf vacuum, Milford Town Park upgrades and more are on the Oct. 30 warrant.

MILFORD, MA — The Milford Select Board has signed off on the warrant for a special October session of Town Meeting, where members will vote on more than three dozens articles ranging from bylaw changes to equipment purchases.
The Oct. 30 meeting will feature 49 articles, with many focusing on infrastructure requests from various town departments. The Select Board approved the warrant on Oct. 2. Here are some highlights from the warrant:
- Article 1: Spends $150,000 to make additional Americans with Disabilities Act improvements to schools, parks, fire and library.
- Article 3: A purchase of "traffic surveillance infrastructure" for the police department.
- Article 15: Spending $100,000 to buy a new leaf vacuum for the Highway Surveyor.
- Article 16: Transferring money from available funds for the renovations of Milford Town Park and the Pearl Street basketball court, projects that have received federal CBDG funding.
- Article 20: Granting the Milford Planning Board $104,000 to pursue a 2024 comprehensive town plan.
- Article 33: Purchasing a new fire department rescue truck. Article 36 also requests funding for a new fire department staff vehicle.
- Article 43: To see if the town will rezone the former Archer Rubber parcels to a combination of business park and residential districts.
- Article 47: Funding a study on the feasibility of building a new skateboard park in Milford.
