State DOT to Begin Work at Cedar Street/Route 16
The state Department of Transportation will begin improvements at the intersection as soon as Monday. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.

If your travels take you through the intersection of Route 16 and Cedar Street, starting today: find an alternate route or expect even longer delays than normal.
The state Department of Transportation informed town leaders Thursday that it plans to begin work at the intersection as soon as Monday, said Michael Santora, the Milford town engineer.
The intersection produces some of the most frustrating wait times in Milford. At 3:30 p.m. Thursday, before rush hour, it was already backed up heading west.

including new sidewalks and signal lights. When the work is finished, the lights at the intersection will be timed to coincide with the lights at Route 109 and 16.
