• Substance Abuse Educational information, preliminaryassessment for substance abuse and mental health issues, andreferral to counseling and treatment for youth and adults. We are committed to community substance abuse prevention through the Needham Coalition for Youth Substance Abuse Prevention (NCYSAP). The Coalition works collaboratively to support all youth to grow and develop to be substance free and healthy in mind, body and spirit. • The Needham Public Health Nurses coordinate various assistance programs for eligible families. These programsinclude the Self-Help Program, Salvation Army, Good Neighborand others. We make Safe-T Visits to homebound adults. We provide Mental Health assessments and referral services to Riverside, Interface and Springwell, as well as referrals to REACH Beyond Domestic Violence for those in need of support. We also coordinate with other town disciplines with regards to housing concerns within the community. • The Traveling Meals program is coordinated by the PublicHealth Department and provides a daily two meal delivery tohousebound Needham residents. Contact 781-455-7500 x 511 formore information.
• The Public Health Department also Co-Chairs the Needham Coalition for Suicide Prevention, Co-Chairs the Domestic Violence Action Committee, Chairs the Housing Workgroup and Co-Chairs the Local Emergency Planning Committee.
