Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse is going all-out to raise awareness and funds to help save lives, as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Davio’s in Boston and Foxborough are both featuring “The Ultimate Pink Drink” this month, with proceeds from sales of Cosmos going to benefit the Breast Cancer Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Davio’s owner Steve DiFillippo gave the worthy campaign a little pink jet fuel by hosting the second annual “Pink Drink Night” at his Boston restaurant.
Steve and his good friend, Carol Bolton Kappel of Needham, together created this special event last year as a way to help others, after Kappel finally gained the upper hand in her own battle with breast cancer.

A crowd of more than 80 people turned out to sip Cosmos for this great cause, and hear Kappel’s personal story of how the BreastCancer Center at BI Deaconess helped her in her recovery, and listened to Center Director Simona Arcidiaco discuss her team’s work and dedication toward the ultimate goal of living in a world where we can finally conquer breast cancer.
The event was attended by many friends of both Kappel and DiFillippo, including Boston Celtics co-owner Bob Epstein and his wife, Esta Gordon Epstein, WCVB TV Eye-Opener Reporter Kimberly Bookman, Attorney Lewis Sassoon, and Portfolio Media Group CEO Jason Chudnofsky.
