Police Log: Drunk Driver Hits Apartment Building with SUV
The Newton man was also cited for driving an unregistered car.

A Newton man was arrested Friday after he allegedly drove an SUV into a Washington Street apartment building.
According to reports, police responded to the building and spoke with the property's co-owner, who told officers he was sleeping when he was woken up by loud screeching and banging as the apartment shook.
The driver of the brown Chevy Tahoe, James Stammers, 25, of 10 Washington Terrace #3, was not at the accident scene when police arrived. He eventually walked back to the accident scene, police said.

After running the vehicle's information, officers found that the vehicle plates were expired.
When the driver and passenger returned to the scene, police had trouble getting information from the involved parties, who appeared to be intoxicated, reports said.

During the interviews, reports said officers noticed the passenger and driver were unsteady on their feet and smelled strongly of alcohol.
Eventually the passenger identified the driver, and Stammers was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of property damage and driving an unregistered motor vehicle, police said.
Newton man arrested on restraining order violation
Christopher Loring Danforth, 56, of 69 Lincoln St., was arrested Sunday at his home after West Newbury police informed Newton Police he had violated a restraining order, reports said.
Newton man arrested after domestic
A Newton man was arrested Sunday after police responded to a domestic incident on Langley Road, reports said.
Alexander Neofotistos, 26, of 400A Langley Road, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, police said.
