
Newton Police are searching for puppy allegedly stolen from the Newtonville Pet store.
Police believe three people took the Shih Tzu, according to WHDH-7News. One suspect allegedly distracted store employees while two others picked up the dog.
A local couple had already purchased the puppy and he was set to go home with his new owners, 7News reported. They had planned to name him Tukka, after the Boston Bruins goalie.

Carly Williams, the girl who had purchased the Shih Tzu, sent out messages on Twitter Sunday to spread the word about the theft.
As a result of the theft, Newtonville Pet has stopped allowing pets to roam in the middle of store, according to 7News.
