
Whether the rain stops or not this weekend it's time to get out of the house after a long week. This weekend there are educational opportunities at the mall and ways to give back.
Here are 5 things to do this weekend:
1. -- From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. the can and bottle drive will raise funds for Band activities. Redeemable bottles and cans can be brought to the High School at 485 Lowell Street anytime from 8 a.m to 1 p.m. at the Band entrance - signs will direct drivers to the drop-off location. 2. Tobacco Awareness -- From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will aim to establish awareness, in the surrounding communities of the Northshore Mall, of underhanded tactics used by the tobacco industry. This event provides residents with a chance to learn about the latest trends used by major tobacco companies, and have their questions answered. Event will include interactive exhibits and giveaways.
3. -- At 5 p.m. on Sunday, dinner at will honor special guest, Peabody Mayor Bonfanti, for his many years of service. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Haven From Hunger in Peabody. General Admission $75; Benefactor $118.

4. Register for Pop Warner -- Pwill be held on Saturday from 9 a.m - noon at the Higgins Middle School cafeteria.
5. Varsity Track -- Meet in Lynn at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
