Lawrence Woman Arrested on 14 Warrants

The woman was arrested after caught shoplifting from Sephora.

A Lawrence woman will be arraigned Monday on multiple shoplifting charges after being caught in the act in a mall makeup store Saturday evening.

At 6:12 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the mall for a report of shoplifting from . When police arrived, mall security had Joanna Stella, 51, 377 Hampshire Street, Lawrence, in custody.

Peabody police arrested the woman on five counts of shoplifting, receiving stolen property over $250 and six warrants out of Haverhill and Lawrence courts.

Once back at the station and after fingerprinting the woman, police found Stella's real name is Elvia Luciano, according to police.

Luciano, who also goes by the name of Grace Ruiz, had an additional eight warrants out for her arrest, police said.

In addition to the 14 warrants and shoplifting charges, Luciano was additionally charged with giving a false name to police officers.
