Outdoor Cooking Caused Tracey Street Fire

The fire department has ruled the fire accidental.

late Monday morning was started after the home owner was cooking in a backyard shed.

Deputy Fire Chief Paul Hinchion said the home owner was cooking in a shed in close proximity to the home. When the home owner left the area to go inside, the fire spread to the shed and quickly engulfed the structure.

"Lt. George Couris was first to respond, he quickly identified the problem," Hinchion said. "The fire was under control after 10 minutes."

Hinchion said there were no injuries to the home owner but the structure and vehicles parked near the structure were damaged. There was also some minor damage to neighboring homes with vinyl siding, he said.
