Police Look For Person Shooting BB Gun, Driving Volvo

The following is an excerpt from the Peabody Police log from Monday through Tuesday afternoon.

  • At 5:13 p.m. Monday, Janice A. Coles, 41, 11 Riverview Drive, Middleton, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, violating an abuse prevention order and intimidating a witness. 
  • At 7:39 p.m. Monday, a resident of a Newbury Street apartment reported a television set and rare coins were stolen.
  • At 9:28 p.m. Monday, a car drove into a building on Centennial Drive. The Building Inspector arrived at the scene and said the car could back out of the building without causing a problem. 
  • At 12:26 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a fight in the parking lot of the on Route 1. When police arrived, the doorman told police the combative parties had left the area.
  • At 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, Salem Police alerted Peabody Police of a report of a green Volvo driving around Tremont Street with a person shooting a BB gun out the window. Police did not find the car.
  • Police and fire responded to Sherman Street at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday to extinguish a microwave fire.
  • Police arrested Ruben Sasoon Melkonian, 57, 50 Warren Street, Peabody, was arrested at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday on charges of domestic assault and battery. 
  • At 1 p.m. Tuesday, police assisted with a broken down trash truck in Peabody Square.
