Quincy Public Schools: 11.29.2021 South~West Middle School Incidents

Dear South~West Middle School Community,

11/29/2021

Dear South~West
Middle School Community,   Today, I
was informed of the possibility of two South~West Middle School students each
being in possession of a weapon, specifically a folding knife.  After being brought to the office, the
students admitted to having folding knives and showing them to classmates.  In both situations, the weapons were not
intended as a threat to any member of the school community.  The students will both be held accountable
and appropriately disciplined for these serious incidents which were unrelated
to each other.    Please
know that Quincy Public Schools takes all reports of this nature seriously and
as always, our focus is on providing a safe school community for students and
staff.  If you or your student have
concerns about this incident, please feel free to reach out to me at
617-984-8729 or via email at .  Assistant Principal Susan Foley ( ) and Guidance
Counselors Jill Kyranis ( ) and Shane
Abboud ( ) are
available to speak with you or your student as well.     Sincerely,   Derek C.
Lakey Principal,
South~West Middle School
