Four Arrested Following Somerville Drug Bust

One suspect fled the scene and attempted to fly off to Atlanta after spotting police at the North Street housing complex.

Four people were arrested following a drug bust in Somerville on Saturday, including one suspect who attempted to flee the state.

An investigation into the actions of suspected drug dealer Steca Thelemaque, of Medford, led police to the North Street Housing projects in Somerville. Officers reportedly witnessed Thelemaque sell drugs to a woman out of an apartment at 24A North Street.

According to the Somerville Journal, police obtained a search warrant for the building and witnessed several individuals make apparent drug purchases in the 24A North Street area. Police apprehended the three individuals and learned they had purchased drugs from Thelemaque.

Joseph Flynn, Henry Alderman, and an unidentified woman allegedly were found to be in possession of heroin, marijuana, and cocaine. After witnessing a second woman purchase drugs, officers entered the building, along with police dogs.

A search of the area uncovered money, an array of drug paraphernalia and multiple cell phones, but Thelemaque was not initially located. After speaking to Nicholas Shiavo, who was present at 24A North Street, police learned Thelemaque had fled the scene and was heading to Logan Airport in an attempt to escape to Atlanta.

State police were alerted of the situation. They then arrested Thelemaque at the airport just before he got on a one-way flight to Atlanta.

Thelemaque was charged with heroin trafficking, illegal drug possession, intent to distribute drugs, and illegal possession of ammunition.

Shiavo, Alderman and Flynn were all arrested and charged as well.
