Somerville Coronavirus Cases Surpass 300
The city reported three more deaths this week from the coronavirus.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The number of coronavirus cases in Somerville continues to rise as more testing becomes available. As of Friday morning, there were 332 total cases of the virus in Somerville.
Of those, 107 people have recovered and four have died, according to the latest numbers from the city.
Somerville and United Way launched the Somerville Cares Fund this week to support the essential needs of community members most impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The fund will provide emergency funding to all residents, regardless of immigration status, as well as workers, including those recently laid off from their jobs.

The city has issued a face-covering order for everyone ages 2 and older when in any public establishment or common area of multi-unit housing or office buildings, in parks, on paths or in any shared community spaces. This includes a fabric mask, scarf or bandana over the mouth and nose.

The start of street sweeping has been delayed to Monday, May 4 in order to prevent residents from having to move their cars during the stay-at-home advisory.
