SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville Police Officer Thomas Thomas Lambert saved a baby from choking on May 18, Somerville Police officials said.
In a Facebook post, Somerville Police said Lambert was working on a construction detail when he got a call on his radio for a choking baby.
He ran to the location and was the first to arrive on the scene, only to find the baby blue and not breathing, according to the Facebook post.

He jumped into action to turn the baby over and began back thrusts until the baby spit up clumps of baby formula, police said.
The baby began breathing, and soon after, the Somerville Fire Department arrived and put a breathing mask on the baby, who was later transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

“Atta boy Tommy, so proud of you!,” former Somerville Auxiliary Police Chief Jerry Carvalho said in a Facebook comment.
