In Biz: New Consignment Shop Coming to Sudbury

Delly's Consignment Boutique is opening soon. The 50-50 shop sells fashion and more.

Moving from Rochester, NY, to Massachusetts six years ago, Juleen Weber has worked in academia most of her professional career. But she always had a passion for fashion and consignment.

She’s making her passion a reality, opening Delly’s Consignment Boutique in Sudbury, tentatively on Dec. 1 at 345 Boston Post Road (Route 20).

Delly’s specializes in high quality designer labels in fashion for the entire family. Shoppers can also find home accents to include wall art, lamps and organizational furniture to name a few. Delly’s is a 50-50 percent consignment shop and will be accepting consignments on daily basis during shop hours.

While the tentative opening is in Dec. 1, consignment acceptances begin in November, and the grand opening is planned for Dec. 5. Those interested in consigning can call 585-730-1627 for an appointment.

What made you decide to open this type of business? Opening Delly’s has been a career goal of mine for a long time. I have enjoyed shopping consignment and thrift for more than 20 years. Since moving from Upstate NY, I have struggled to find the type of consignment stores that I once enjoyed being a consignor and customer. When I decided to open my own store, I knew I wanted to do things differently and offer items for the entire household.

Why Sudbury? As I set out on the pursuit of a perfect location, I was looking for a place that was quaint and homey. I wanted the location to be unique like the store. After looking at many locations in different towns, I knew the minute I saw 345 Boston Post Road that it was the perfect place. It offers cozy rooms, big windows and beautiful bookshelves to display items for sale. I hope the customers enjoy it as much as I do.

What do you like best about it? The type of working environment that allows me to interact and meet new people on a daily basis. I have had the chance to meet some of my neighbors and have really appreciated how nice and helpful they all have been. From giving me ideas on the store arrangement and sharing contractor contacts, I get the feeling that the area is a very friendly and cohesive working environment.

Biggest struggle? As a first time entrepreneur, there is a lot to learn and do. I am enjoying every second of the challenge and can’t wait to open my doors.

What do you see for the future? Expanding and growing
