Comfort Matters Most to Sudbury Businesswoman

Melanie Berger's sleepwear line has taken off.

Melanie Berger, a former advertising executive who lives in Sudbury, founded Mariwear, a sleepwear and lounge wear company in August 2011 after looking in vain for sleepwear and lounge wear that was as fashionable as it was comfortable.

“Women should be able to get out of their bras at the end of the day and feel comfortable and still feel confident about the way they look,” she told the Boston Herald.

Berger spent years in search of something she could put on at the end of the day that allowed her to still feel good about the way she looked. Available options were either not modest enough or didn’t offer any built-in shape or support; hence requiring a bra or cover up. After many years of trying to find this type of apparel, it became her dream to create it in hopes that all women would finally have an alternative to get comfortable at the end of their day while still being modest and feeling good.
