LS Baseball Suffers Opening Round Loss to Powerful Bridgewater-Raynham

Lincoln-Sudbury baseball is one loss away from elimination with its next game set for Saturday.

The postseason didn't quite get off to the star the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School baseball team had hoped. And to keep their championship dreams alive, the Warriors will have to bounce back quickly.

Bridgewater-Raynham dominated early and pulled away late on Thursday, cruising to a 19-4 win over Lincoln-Sudbury in the opening round of the first ever Super 8 tournament.

Following the setback, the local nine dropped into the losers bracket, where they will face off against Lowell on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The loser of Saturday's game is eliminated from the postseason, while the winner keeps its tournament alive.

Lowell or Lincoln-Sudbury will either play Braintree, which lost 8-3 to Silver Lake, or the loser of Newton North versus Catholic Memorial, a game that was suspended in the 14th inning on Thursday due to darkness. That contest will resume on Friday.

The Warriors enter Saturday's contest with a record of 18-5 on the season.
