Monday Essentials: Cast Off and Sail For Scott Milley

Cruise helping raise funds for the LT Scott F. Milley Ranger Foundation.

The Lt. Scott F. Milley Ranger Foundation is planning another Boston harbor cruise next month to raise money in memory of the fallen Army Ranger from Sudbury.

The cruise will take place on Thursday, Sept. 5, and tickets are $45 each..

The cruise will depart at 200 Seaport Blvd. in Boston. Boarding begins promptly at 6:30 p.m., and the boat will sail from 7-10 p.m.

You must be 21 years old to board the boat.

Tickets must be purchased by Aug. 29. There will be no tickets at the door. Tickets can be purchased here.

Milley was commissioned to the 2nd Battalion 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, where he served as a platoon leader. He was promoted to the rank of first lieutenant, and was deployed to Afghanistan as part of operation Enduring Freedom. 

While conducting combat operations in the Baraki Barak district of Afghanistan, Milley was killed leading his soldiers when insurgents attacked his unit. He died on Nov. 30, at the young age of 23. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Purple Heart.
