Here's your at-a-glance look at what you need to know this week in Sudbury.

The official start of a new era for the Sudbury Police Department begins July 30 when Scott Nix will be sworn in as the permanent police chief.

Nix was named acting police chief earlier this after Richard Glavin resigned following an arrest in his hometown of Tyngsboro.

The swearing-in ceremony is slated for 7:15 p.m. at the start of the Board of Selectmen meeting.
