Monday Essentials: Part of Landham Road Closed This Week

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Landham Road will be closed to traffic starting on Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16, from Pelham Island Road to Route 20, the Town announced.

Excavation must be performed from the middle of the road so motorists must seek an alternate route.

Detours will be set up to help the traffic flow.

"This schedule is subject to change due to matters beyond our control," the Town said in a release.

The Sudbury DPW began work on replacing a rusted out culvert below the Landham Road bridge on Aug. 5, an emergency job that will take about three weeks to fix.

According to DPW Director Bill Place, the department became aware of the issue recently when it received a call about a pothole in the area.

"We took pictures and saw that it is all rusted out," Place said. "It has to be replaced."

The overall cost of the project will be roughly $200,000.
