Seekonk Man Pleads Guilty To Stealing From Sudbury Scholarship

The man was hired to help raise funds for the scholarship fund in Sudbury.

SUDBURY, MA—A man hired to help raise money for a Sudbury scholarship fund pleaded guilty to stealing from that fund, according to reports.

Patrick Kane, Seekonk, pleaded guilty to one count of larceny less than $1,200 for lying about money he raised for the Lincoln-Sudbury Scholarship Fund in 2016, reports MetroWest Daily News. Kane was paid 60 percent of the money raised, and it was later discovered that he inflated the money he raised to get a higher commission.

Kane was ordered to pay back restitution costs, court costs and he was also placed on probation.
