Share Your Thoughts on the Future of Fairbank Community Center
Here are 5 things to help inform you today in Sudbury

Last fall it was recognized that although the Fairbank Community Center roof needed repair, it might be best to assess the future of the building before allocating the funds for the roof replacement. The Fairbank Community Center Study Task Force was formed with members from the Sudbury Council on Aging (Jack Ryan), the Sudbury Park and Recreation Commission (Richard Williamson), and several Community Members, along with Sudbury Director of Facilities Jim Kelly. The Task Force recommended an architectural firm perform a Feasibility study of the building and the needs of the community.
This Feasibility Study is set to take place in the fall of 2013. In preparation for this study, the Sudbury Council on Aging is requesting input from the community regarding the possible plans for the Community/Senior Center. You may download a copy of the questionnaire at Community Center Questionnaire.
For more information, contact Senior Center Director Debra Galloway, or Council on Aging Chair Jack Ryan, by emailing gallowayd@sudbury.ma.us.

2. Keeping cool: Some of the most important steps to take to reduce heat-related illness include:
- If you do not have air-conditioning, take some time (a few hours) to go to an air-conditioned space, such as the Senior Center or Goodnow Library, a restaurant or movie theatre.
- Drink water, and other fluids frequently throughout the day, even if you aren't thirsty (do not drink alcoholic beverages as these dehydrate) .
- Avoid strenuous activity, take it easy.
- Wear lightweight, light colored clothing.
