Sudbury Man Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge

The following arrest information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 911 call to the Sudbury Police Department on June 19 regarding a domestic issue resulted in the arrest of a local man.

According to Lt. Robert Grady, the alleged victim reported being grabbed and choked by Joseph J. Carney, 47, of 354 Boston Post Road.

The alleged crime happened at 345 Boston Post Road at about 3:30 p.m.

When responding officers arrived at the scene, Carney had already fled, Grady said.

Carney did come back to the scene at about 5:50 p.m. and was placed under arrest on probable cause.

Carney faces charges of attempted murder and domestic assault and battery.

He was held overnight and transported to Framingham District Court this morning (June 20) for his arraignment.
