Sudbury Seeks Asphalt Adopters For 2023 Cleanup Day
The town's annual litter cleanup day is coming up quick, and there are plenty of miles to adopt.
SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury is looking for adoptive parents for the town's roadways.
With the town's annual Earth Day roadside litter pickup coming up on April 22, Sudbury is signing up businesses and residents to adopt streets to clean that day.
Here's how it works, according to the town:

- Sign Up — Head to the Adopt a Street website to pick a road. Volunteers then head to that spot on April 22 for the pickup.
- Clean Up — Volunteers can use any type of trash bag and any tools to make the job easier.
- Stay Safe — The town is advising resident to follow safety guidelines, like wearing gloves and high-visibility clothing during cleanup.
- Prep for Pickup — Volunteers can put bagged litter in one visible pile along the adopted route. The town prefers the piles to be placed at intersections whenever possible. The DPW will collect bags during the week of April 24.
Also for Earth Day, Sudbury is planning a fair featuring a farmers market with 10 local vendors, plus activities like learning how to compost and information from groups like the Sudbury Garden Club, Sustainable Sudbury and the town Energy and Sustainability Committee.
