2 Killed In Watertown Crash: Cops

The two were killed while leaving a funeral, according to media reports.

WATERTOWN, MA — A Tuesday afternoon crash in Watertown claimed two lives, police said.

Officers responded about noon to the crash on Bigelow Avenue, according to the Watertown Police Department.

"Upon arrival, it was determined that two individuals had succumbed to their injuries as a result of the collision," police said.

The two were leaving a funeral when they were killed, according to NBC Boston.

"The victims were at the funeral of a family member Tuesday," per NBC Boston. "They had just left a cemetery and were returning to Armenian Memorial Church for a memorial dinner when the collision happened."

The crash was outside the Deluxe Town Diner, CBS revealed.

"One of the vehicles involved appeared to be a Tesla," the CBS story said. "A total of five cars were towed from the scene, some with significant damage."

The funeral the two killed in the crash had attended was for an 89-year-old aunt, NBC Boston reported.

"Some of us were there in the hall, kind of wondering what was going on," Joan Balboia, the church's music director, said in the NBC Boston. story.

"Information started to trickle in, and we still kind of knew who was in the car, but we didn't know," Balboia said.
