5 Things: Flag Day, Maritimes Music Open Mic

1. Bring out Old Glory: Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on this day in 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.

2. Preschool Story Time at 10:15 a.m. at the Watertown Free Public Library.

For all those from the Maritimes - New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island – or are just interested, come by the Canadian-American Club, 202 Arlington St. at 8:30 p.m. for the weekly Maritime Open mic night. Bring along your instrument and you might be invited up to play a tune or two. Listen to some great maritime music: Cape Breton fiddle, Bluegrass and country music. And there could be some dancing too.

4. There's Bingo from 10 a.m. to noon at the Watertown Senior Center, 31 Marshall St. Just some low stakes senior bingo that's a fun way to socialize with friends.

5. In 1775, the Continental Army is established by the Continental Congress, marking the birth of the United States Army.
