Madarati is one of 20 people linked to a major drug ring that stretched from Watertown to Canada and California, according to federal authorities. He was arrested in 2011 after a lengthy investigation by federal authorities in which, among other things, nearly $2 million was seized in October 2010 at Hanscom Field in Bedford.
The investigation also nabbed a former Watertown Police Officer, who recently pleaded guilty to federal charges.
