5 Things: DPW Facility (Again), Voter Deadline, ASPCA Anniversary

A few things you need to know on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Wayland.

1. Voter Registration Deadline. This is it. Today's is the last day to register to vote in the special state primary. The Office of the Town Clerk will be open until 8 p.m. today for last-minute registration.

2. Town Meeting Session 4. We'll be back at the Wayland High School field house tonight at 7:30 for session four of Wayland's 2013 Annual Town Meeting.

3. Because This is Unusual ... we're pointing it out. Town Meeting voters will decide tonight whether to reconsider funding for the new DPW facility. No matter how you feel about the facility, we thought you should know the situation.

5. Animals' Best Friend. On this date in 1866, philanthropist Henry Bergh founded the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). According to History.com, his model for preventing cruelty to animals was the precursor to preventing cruelty and abuse of children.
