Expansion, Rather Than Replacement, 'Not Feasible' For Library

The Library Planning Committee is holding a meeting regarding the possible new library.

WAYLAND, MA—The Wayland Library Planning Committee continues its work regarding the possible construction of a new library, and a vote on this new construction is expected at the Wayland Annual Town Meeting in April 2018.

The committee said that some Wayland residents have presented ideas regarding expanding the current library building at 5 Concord Road instead of creating a new library building.

The Wayland Library Planning Committee plans on discussing these ideas at its next meeting, and welcomes the public’s questions and comments. At this meeting, members of the Library Planning Committee, and possibly the architect involved in the library project, outline all the reasons why an expansion at 5 Concord Road is not feasible, despite the Committee’s desire to do so.
